Typically our clients are still using these automated reporting solutions 5 to 10 years after they were built and have realised the benefits of keeping a lean operational team that leverages technology to achieve significant ongoing cost savings.

We firstly make sure we have a full understanding of the scope of requirements and the detailed instructions related to each particular requirement. If this is not yet formalised we can assist with preparing a Business Requirement Specification (BRS) document.

We identify the data scope for testing as the automated reports will need to be cross-checked against historical reports for accuracy. This typically finds issues with the historical reports but nevertheless it is very important to validate the accuracy of all reports.

We review the full suite of current input file sets and information on any future input file sets so that the correct figures are extracted and correctly presented (aggregated or otherwise) in all reporting layers and continue to be should data inputs evolve. We discuss with you how to identify any new members in a data set and how these might be handled.

We look at how the reports should be structured, who should be notified when the reports have been prepared, how errors are to be handled, who is to be notified in case of error etc. Scope out the access to the reports, whether it is through an Excel spreadsheet, Google Sheet and whether any dashboard will be overlaid.
